I have decided that I want to
produce a music video either with a comedy or horror theme. If I decided to go
for a comedy video then it would be similar to this video which I am analysing.
This video is very different
from a conventional music video which usually features
the artist performing, and instead has the two producers as actors in
the video. This and the general randomness of the video surprises the consumer
as it breaks all of the conventions that they are used to while watching a
video belonging to this genre. We see a cash machine come alive and travel
across the city doing things we would usually see a human do and generally
acting like a human. On his travels we see a wide range of ethnicity and ages,
which could be seen as a subverted stereotype as we usually only see young
people in videos like this. If I was to produce a video similar to this it
would be very important to make it seem professional as with comedy videos like
this there is a fine line between them being successful and them looking very amateur
and as if not much thought was put into it.
Another idea that I have which could either be produced as a music video or a short story was to make a horror video. If it was a music video it would be very different from conventional music videos where you see the artist preforming, firstly because having parts without the horror theme would make the whole video seem less scary, and secondly because the piece of music which I have in mind is electronic, which can be listened to below.
